  • Does Kershaw County have a noise ordinance?

    Yes. In the event that a citation is issued regarding a noise complaint, the original complainant will be issued a subpoena to appear in court to testify to the offense.

  • Does the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office provide Active Shooter training to the public?

    Active Shooter training for businesses and places of worship can be requested from the SLED Active Shooter and CCTA Training Unit by contacting them at (803) 896-8128. Some of the services provided include:

    • Active Violence in the Workplace

    • Active Violence for Houses of Worship

    • Active Violence for Buses and Transportation Personnel

    • Active Violence for Human Resources Personnel

    • Physical Security Assessments

    No, you may get a criminal background check by going to SLED or going to their website HERE

  • What do I need to do to take a warrant out on someone?

    You must first file a report with the Sheriff’s Office. The incident must have occurred within the jurisdiction of the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Does the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office fingerprint for concealed weapons permits/etc?

    No. There are several locations locally who provide fingerprinting services, both non-law enforcement and law enforcement locations.
